JailHost
What are the basic pros of activating the JailHost functionality? What exactly is 'JailHost', anyway?
It is not unusual for many users to use weak passwords because they're much easier to remember or to use scripts, templates and plugins that aren't updated for a long time. In either of these instances, it will not be difficult for a hacker to take over the site and from there on to take control of other Internet sites that may be hosted within the same account. In order to prevent this scenario, we have added an excellent security option called JailHost. It restricts the access that a script has only to its own folder, so if one of your sites is compromised, the attacker will see its content, but will not be able to see any other content part of your account, thus the damage will be minimal. Of course, employing JailHost doesn't replace the security measures you need to take by keeping your scripts up-to-date and using long and complex passwords, still it will help you to limit any damage to one site only.

JailHost in Hosting
In case you host your Internet sites in a
hosting account from our company, you could protect them using the JailHost feature with just a couple of mouse clicks in your Hepsia Control Panel. The option is available with all packages and can be enabled for any folder because the domains and subdomains in Hepsia have different folders, so that files for various websites do not get mixed up like it regularly happens with other Control Panels. We have not activated JailHost by default as you may use scripts which need access to folders outside the primary website folder and this option may interfere with their proper functioning, but protecting all other folders is very simple. If any protected site gets hacked for whatever reason, we'll be able to recover it easily as we will have multiple daily backups of your entire account and you will even be able to view the available backups in Hepsia.
